Wijchense Molen
The Wijchense Molen is a working windmill from 1799 on the Bronckhorstlaan in Wijchen, opposite the station, where a miller and his team have ground grain into flour for home bakers since 2013.
Several kinds of grain are ground between the mill's own millstones, driven by the wind, so the flour comes from slow stone milling rather than a roller mill; their website names no farm or region for the grain. The shop on the ground floor of the mill sells this flour alongside a large range of baking mixes for bread, cake and pastry. Every Saturday it also sells fresh bread made from the mill's flour without artificial additives, baked for the mill by bakery Jos Veltmaat.
The mill shop is open on Thursday and Friday from 10:00 to 17:00 and on Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00. Everything in the shop can also be ordered from the webshop and either collected at the mill or shipped, within the Netherlands and across Europe.
