Boer Erik is a fruit farm with a farm shop (landwinkel) on the Oostkanaaldijk in Loenen aan de Vecht, midway between Amsterdam and Utrecht, where the orchards grow apples and cherries and the farm's bees make its honey.
The shop sells apples the farm picks itself and its own honey, and in summer cherries picked in the orchard and strawberries. Raspberries, blackberries and redcurrants come from friends of the farm. Eggs from the farm's own TokTokEieren hens are sold too; their website says the hens have room to roam freely, not yet confirmed.
The shop is open all year on Thursday and Friday from 9:00 to 17:30 and Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00. In September the farm holds apple-picking days when visitors pick their own, and the orchards are open to visitors who want to see the blossom in spring or the fruit ripening.
The strawberries are left on the plant until fully ripe, because they go straight to the shop instead of spending days in a distribution centre.
