Boerderij Hartstocht is an organic dairy farm at Gein Zuid 26 in Abcoude, where 130 dairy cows and 100 young animals, mostly of the old Dutch Groninger Blaarkop breed, graze herb-rich grassland and the farm sells its own beef from the yard.
The beef is from the farm's Blaarkop cows and steers and is sold frozen. According to their website the cows eat mainly grass and herbs with a little concentrate at milking, are outdoors at least eight months a year and get only organic feed. Occasional lamb, pork and eggs are also sold, but whether those animals are the farm's own and how they are kept we could not confirm. Raw milk sales at the farm stopped on 1 January 2025; all the milk now goes to the cooperative Eko Holland. The farm is certified organic (SKAL); we found the certificate at this address. De Tuinen van Hartstocht, a separate business at the same address, runs a self-harvest vegetable and flower garden on the CSA principle without pesticides or artificial fertiliser.
Meat is sold at the farm on Saturdays from 11:00 to 17:00 and at any hour from card-operated vending machines on the car park, or ordered through the contact form; vegetables and flowers come through a harvest share at the Tuinen.
Because no artificial fertiliser is used the grass grows more slowly, so the farm composts cuttings from parks and nature areas to make up the loss.
