Geitenboerderij Ridammerhoeve is a biodynamic goat farm in the middle of the Amsterdamse Bos, with about a hundred milking goats alongside hens, pigs and a few cattle, and a farm shop that sells what the farm produces.
In the farm's cheese cellar the goats' milk becomes hard goat cheese made from raw milk, sold at several ages and with herbs, as well as fresh goat cheese and feta. Raw goat milk is sold too, in your own litre bottles or in a litre tub from the shop. The yoghurt, quark (kwark), buttermilk, butter and goat-milk ice cream are made from pasteurised milk. The freezer holds the farm's own goat meat, from stewing and roasting cuts to mince, and pork and beef from their animals; the chicken in it comes from elsewhere. The eggs are from their own hens, which have a house with an outdoor run. An animal-welfare organisation that visited in 2022 reported that the kids stay with their mothers in the herd. The farm is certified organic (SKAL) and Demeter-certified (NL-111820); we found both in the registers.
The shop is open every day except Tuesday from 10:00 to 17:00. The range changes, so their website suggests coming by rather than asking ahead.
The farm works as a mixed farm at a distance: fodder beet, wheat and straw come from the Ferket family's arable farm in the Flevopolder, which takes the goats' manure in return.
