Landwinkel De Kopermolen is a dairy farm and farm shop on the Barneveldsebeek in Stoutenburg, between Leusden and Amersfoort, that makes boerenkaas (raw-milk farm cheese) and dairy from the milk of its own cows.
The farm keeps just over 50 dairy cows, which graze fresh grass in the meadow in summer and are housed in a barn with waterbeds, where a robot milks them several times a day. The cheese is made from their raw milk in the farm's own cheese room, from young to very old crumbly cheese and more than twelve herb cheeses, and the buttermilk is properly churned rather than soured skimmed milk; milk, yoghurt, cream and butter come from the same cows. The beef is from their own cows too, which the farmers drive themselves to a small butcher in Nijkerk and pack and freeze on their return. The chicken comes from De Polderhoen, which their website describes as organic and as carrying three Beter Leven stars. Pork from their own pigs and venison from another farm shop are sold too, not yet confirmed.
The shop is open on Wednesday from 13:00 to 17:00 and Thursday to Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00; all the meat is sold frozen.
The farm has made its own cheese and dairy since 1990.
