The pointed cabbage season

Spitskool is the quick, tender summer cabbage, cut from May to October.

How to choose pointed cabbage

Light, loosely packed cone with glossy leaves.

Nutrients in pointed cabbage

Vitamin C, vitamin K, folate and glucosinolates. Lighter than a white cabbage, and quicker to cook.

To get the most: A short stir-fry or raw slaw keeps the vitamin C; it is a quick cabbage, treat it that way.

Content per NEVO, the Dutch food composition database. This describes what the food contains, not what it does for you.

How to prepare pointed cabbage

Shred and stir-fry for three minutes, or cut into wedges and sear in a hot pan.
