Tuinen van Kraaybeekerhof is a biodynamic market garden of 5.6 hectares on the Kraaybeekerhof estate in Driebergen-Rijsenburg, where three growers and many volunteers run a self-harvest garden (zelfoogsttuin) for subscription members alongside a nursery and an estate shop.
Members harvest biodynamically grown vegetables, small fruit and herbs. The estate shop sells the garden's own vegetables and herbal tea, plus vegetables and fruit from Lindegaard, which their website says are always organic and as far as possible biodynamic, and resells bread, boerenkaas (raw-milk farm cheese), dairy, honey and eggs we haven't judged. Their website says the land is farmed under the Demeter mark; the garden is certified organic (SKAL) and we found that certificate in the register.
Joining the self-harvest garden means paying a yearly contribution before the season and harvesting a share of what grows over thirty weeks a year; members harvest from Wednesday 13:00 until Sunday evening, guided by a weekly bulletin and flags on the beds. The waiting list is currently longer than one season. Anyone can sign up for a winter box of storage vegetables topped up with fresh ones from the garden, sixteen weeks from mid-November 2026 to early March 2027, collected every other Saturday. The estate shop is open Fridays and Saturdays from 12:00 to 17:00.
The storage vegetables come from two arable farmers in the polder, bought together with other CSA gardens so the farmers have a guaranteed outlet without middlemen.
