Stadsboerderij Presikhaaf is a public city farm run by Natuurcentrum Arnhem at Ruitenberglaan 4 in Arnhem-Noord, breeding rare Dutch farm breeds and selling meat from its own animals and eggs from its own hens in a farm shop.
The cattle are old Dutch breeds, Lakenvelder and Blaarkop, and the sheep, goats, hens and ducks are also from breeds that are becoming rare; their website says the animals get as much room as possible to live naturally and organic, mostly local feed. The meat from their own land includes beef and lamb; cuts and whether fresh or frozen are not stated. The eggs are from the farm's own hens and from a fellow farmer. The shop also sells vegetables, mostly from the organisation's own land, topped up with organic vegetables from the region, flour from the Witte Watermolen, which belongs to the same organisation, and local honey, and resells cheese and ice cream we haven't judged. Their website says the farm holds the SKAL mark, and we found a certificate at this address in the name of Stichting Natuurcentrum Arnhem.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:30 and Sundays from 13:00 to 16:30; the farm itself is free to visit daily.
On one meadow the farmer skipped haymaking and let the cows in only in August, so they ate a third of the standing grass and trampled the rest into a layer that feeds the soil life.
