Practices beyond what our criteria ask for. What counts
In their words · translated
“Dit model stelt ons in staat om te kiezen voor regeneratieve en agro-ecologische landbouwmethoden waarbij we zonder kunstmest, gif en monoculturen werken”
This model allows us to choose regenerative and agro-ecological farming methods, in which we work without artificial fertiliser, pesticides and monocultures
“Er wordt geen gebruik gemaakt van kunstmest en bestrijdingsmiddelen. Wij gebruiken plantaardige bemesting (groencompost) en mest van eigen kippen. Het plant- en zaaigoed is biologisch”
No artificial fertiliser or pesticides are used. We use plant-based fertiliser (green compost) and manure from our own hens. The plant and seed stock is organic

cut flowers (onbespoten, bloemen-abonnement)

Boerderij Eetmeerbosch is a self-harvest farm (zelfoogstboerderij) on the Scherpenkampweg in Nijmegen-West, where two farmers grow more than 120 kinds of vegetables, herbs, fruit and flowers on 1.5 hectares beside a food forest of almost three hectares, for its harvest members (oogstgenoten).

From April to December members harvest unsprayed vegetables and herbs, around twenty kinds a week, and from July a weekly bunch of cut flowers. The farm's fifty hens are outdoors all year and their eggs go out through an egg subscription (ei-abonnement); whether the food forest's fruit and nuts also reach members is not stated. The farm holds no organic certificate, which their website puts down to the cost for a farm of its scale; what qualifies it here is the practice itself: no artificial fertiliser or pesticides, soil fed only with green compost and the hens' manure, and organic seed.

Joining means buying a harvest subscription (oogstabonnement) for the season through their webshop, priced per person on a solidarity scale set by income. New members start with a tour and harvest instructions, then come any day from sunrise to sunset and take what they need on trust; a six-week trial exists. All places for 2026 are taken and the 2027 waiting list is open; non-members can visit by appointment.

In 2025 soil and groundwater were tested for PFAS and heavy metals, and according to their website the laboratory found neither.
