Tres Jolie
- No synthetic pesticides or fertiliser (certified)
Très Jolie is an organic soft-fruit garden on the Boshuisweg in De Glind, near Barneveld, where many kinds of berries are grown for picking days, local health-food shops and the garden's own fruit spreads and syrups.
The garden grows red and white currants, blueberries, blackcurrants, gooseberries, jostaberries, blackberries, raspberries, tayberries (a blackberry-raspberry cross) and Japanese wineberries, and on a smaller scale rosehips, elderberries, sloes, plums, apples and nuts. The berries are made into fruit spreads, dessert sauces, syrups, a blackberry vinegar, juices, chutney, jelly and dried fruit, worked without sugar or with as little added sugar as possible so that the jars hold more fruit. The garden is certified organic (SKAL), which we found in the register.
During the garden season, from April to the end of September, the products are sold at the garden itself, and in summer and early autumn there are picking days (zelfplukdagen) when visitors pick the fruit themselves; in 2026 the season closed with a last harvest day on 3 October. How much there is to pick varies with the weather and what has gone to shops, so their website asks visitors to check first. The spreads and syrups are stocked by shops in Amersfoort, Barneveld, Bennekom, Driebergen, Leusden, Lunteren and Wageningen, and sold at a handful of regional markets.
Volunteers work the garden all year round on Tuesdays and Thursdays, pruning, weeding and carting leaf compost.
